All corners of society are fast seeking ways to reduce emissions Jewish tradition, our community’s organisational values, and our sense of innovation embolden us to lead by example.
Jewish community members and key stakeholders are looking to our major institutions for leadership.
These Zero Emissions Cohort fortnightly sessions, delivered by industry-leading experts and facilitated by JCN, equipped senior organisational leaders with knowledge and practical tools to reduce the emissions impact of their operations. In addition, the sessions suppported organisational leaders in communicating their zero emissions journey to their specific community to bring them along, each step of the way.
Session 1.
The Journey Begins
This session presented an opportunity for cohort members to establish their main reasons for participating, hearing from other senior community leaders about the same, and laying down their organisation’s goals for the program.
Session 2.
Policy & People
This session supported participants to develop a climate policy that underpinned their emissions-reduction activities, and proposed governance frameworks they might adopt to sustain projects over time.
Session 3.
Getting Your Emissions To Zero
This session examined the main sources of emissions applicable to each organisation and the best ways to bring them to zero in the most financially-viable way.
Session 4.
Finance & Fossil Fuels
This session explored the major risks for each organisation from actively or passively investing in carbon-intensive investments and assets. It provided knowledge, case studies, and practical frameworks that participants and their financial advisors could use to review organisational investments, or strengthen their existing ESG strategy.
Session 5.
Tracking Emissions
This session outlined the power of monitoring one’s emissions-reduction journey and how organiations can begin with little fuss. It presented a range of angles participants might use to share the success of their zero emissions journey with families, members and stakeholders.
